New Facebook Page

We are phasing out the Portsmouth Roller Wenches group, and will be closing it to skaters only.

This is to introduce our new Fan Page

Please leave the group and join the fan page, in order to keep up with the latest developments with YOUR roller derby team, the Portsmouth Roller Wenches.

We’re separating things out to make things less confusing, so you can get the information you want quicker, and easier without wading through our team talk. Lots of exciting new developments are sure to be happening in the next few months, as we move into more intense phase of training up, ready to bout with other teams.

Anyone left in the group will be removed in a couple of months times. So JOIN OUR FAN PAGE!

KickFlip Boards Our friends at KickFlipBoards.com are compiling a list of all Roller Derby leagues in the country, and your very own Roller Wenches are one of the first leagues to be included. Want to get a closer look at the Wenches? We’ve got a brand new gallery page for you to take a gander at. It will be updated regularly with pictures from practices, promotional shoots and eventually our live bouts.

The first gallery comes courtesy of Joe Watson, who photographed us for local newspaper, The News.

Booty Brings in the Loot

Our second car boot sale raised a super total of £95, and so brings our loot up to a respectable total that will cover the insurance needed for us to begin practicing inside! We shall hopefully be moving to Priory Community Sports Centre very soon.

Not a moment too soon as you can see from the latest and most brutal case of basketball court “rink rash” the Wenches have seen yet; a true derby medal on coach Lunatic Lolly!

We couldn’t have done it without your support, so thanks to all those who dropped by and bought some of our swag.

We’ll continue to fundraise for our league, with our next booty being in a couple of weeks time. Remember the Portsmouth Roller Wenches is a skaters owned, run and financed league. It is only with your continued support that we can live to bout another day.

Car Booty, argg!

We held the first of our car booty fundraisers today. We were unfortunately cut short, by the rain (we were willing to continue under our makeshift Wenches banner tent, but the punters scarpered) but still managed to raise an impressive £96.50! Good job wenches!

We will be having our second car booty next week, Sunday 12th September from 8am at the Pompey Centre, Goldsmith Avenue. (The car park next to Fratton Park, Portsmouth FC’s ground.) We will be selling all manner of things, from books to oddities such as ‘stress breasts’! Come down and support your local roller derby team!

Important note: Due to the Car Booty our Sunday practice will start at 1pm, rather than the usual 11am.
